What is the difference between a torque wrench and a bolt tensioner?

A hydraulic torque wrench applies rotational torque to turn a nut. A bolt tensioner directly stretches the bolt to a precise tension load, then the nut is run down to maintain that load. Tensioners are used where precise bolt load and simultaneous multi-bolt tensioning is required.
